McKenna missed her last soccer game for ballet this year--sorry that I only brought the camera once! Garner's games coincided with Jaden's--the reason there's so many more of Garner. He smiles for me, too. Anyway, I love that our kids love to play soccer! It fills up our Saturdays, but that's okay because we're hanging out as a family. If anyone needs cleats, socks, shirts or shorts, come to my house! We've collected enough to fill a soccer shop.
Every year, for as long as I can remember, my sweet Rigby grandparents have gathered the whole clan in Sun Valley in the springtime. Since we've lived so far from that wonderful place for 10 years now, we haven't been able to attend. But THIS year, was my mom's 60th and she flew all of her children home to be with her!! It was so wonderful. The people, the place, the memories--all too sweet for words. Here's a few pictures. Garner calls it "that happy place."
I can't even begin to describe the talent in my siblings! It's amazing to me. All of my beautiful pictures come from Jen. She's the BEST photographer. Tom is our film artist. He'll be famous someday, I'm pretty sure of that. Ashley is our painting and drawing artist and photographer. You should see her sketches and paintings of people! Camille is Martha Stewart times ten. My dad is the antique-master-refinisher. Heather, the musician! (You should hear her sing and play the guitar) Andrea, the artist AND athlete. And Mom, singer and artist, the one who encourages us all, the peacemaker. We are a lucky, lucky family.
My most favorite time of year! I love having them home. Jaden graduated from Middle School. He was awarded "Top Male Vocalist". It's fun to be his mom, most of the time. I would put a smiley face after that sentence if I knew how. Brielle continues to be a great joy to every person in our family. Coley still has his beautiful heart, the world hasn't taken it from him yet. I hope it never will. McKenna is the girl I want to be like. Honestly. How did she figure it out so young? And Garner....he's going to break my heart in a few months--my LEAST favorite time of year.
Oh, no. It's the dreaded number five. It can only mean ONE thing. I have to cut an apron string and let him go out into the world. I honestly cried when I took him his breakfast in bed. Why is this so hard for me??? It's only half of a day. But that's too long when I LOVE every single minute with him. I'm glad birthdays are such a happy day for our sweet kids because they are heartbreakers for me. So, with an aching heart, I present to the world, the sweetest, funniest, most adorable little five year old boy and PLEAD with all to please be good to him. He is so loved.
I've got some catching up to do! Sometimes I wonder if we'll need a second home for our pictures. I LOVE our pictures!! (Especially the ones that Jen takes!) I hope that "books in heaven" refers to memory books, not just books filled with all of my bad stuff. Here's a few Easter pics. I'm hoping Jen will share some of her's, because, of course, mine pale in comparison. We were SO LUCKY (I use that word a lot, when speaking of Jen) to get to spend Easter with the Andersons! I absolutely LOVE every person in their home. Our kids love each other, too. Even our husbands. How lucky are we?
This just put my heart in my stomach. Sweet little Garner is our ball boy. He runs after every ball that rolls into the forest. We had no idea that poison ivy was alive when everything else was dead! Even sadder, Garner only let me take pictures of his hand. He had it all over his stomach and arm, too. Believe me when I tell you that he hardly complained. He endured it well! Thank heavens for jewell weed and witch hazel. Now that he's healed, I felt alright about posting this.
