Saying Goodbye to Matt

Matt Stranski has been one of our family's heroes for almost 4 years now.  He has been an example and true friend.  He gave up college football to go on a two year mission.  All I can say is "Indianapolis, Indiana, it's your lucky day."  We will miss you, Elder Stranski. 

Spring Break at Central Park

The kids and I drove to Central Park for a picnic and the Zoo.  It turned out to be the busiest day we'd ever seen and also one of the most beautiful.  We discovered that Passover isn't just a religious holiday, as we thought it was!  I'm so grateful for Spring.  It represents many things to me.  But the best part about Spring is having people that I completely adore to share it with.

This past weekend, Jaden played Sky Masterson in his school's musical, "Guys and Dolls."  We were so privileged to have Bev and Steve Lake, Grandma Joyce and Jen and Sabe and their sweet kids all come to New York to support him!  What a lucky guy.  I think he made their trips all worth it.  Brian and Steve and Cole made a trip to Cooperstown to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame.  We also got to see the baby for the first time on ultrasound!  It was just one of those really great weekends that won't be forgotten.

We are so proud of Jaden.  He goes out for anything that sounds like fun, without fear or concern for what anyone else might think.

Happy Easter!

I love Easter.  I love that it means Spring is finally here.  I love that my kids go crazy over hidden Easter eggs, dump all of the candy into one communal bowl, and then forget all about it!  WHY does there have to be such a thing as Whopper Eggs?  They call out my name every single year.

We went bowling with some friends over Spring Break.  Believe it, or not, Garner had the high score!  I won't tell you how Jaden placed.

Basketball, Lion King and Green Food

Jennifer got after me for not posting any new pictures...so here I am!  Sometimes I feel like Winter is blah, until I step back and look at what's been going on.  Life is made up of a whole bunch of good, little things and most of the bad gets forgotten.  

Brian coached Jaden's basketball team this year (Cole assisted, without even being asked).  They weren't the best team in the league, but they played their hearts out!  Jaden has a very crooked, broken finger to remember the season by.  

My mom and dad gave us tickets to see Lion King on Broadway for Christmas this year!  We loved it!  Thanks so much for the great memory.

Finally, our family has a little St. Patrick's Day tradition that we'd like to share, despite what anyone might think of us.  We have a Green Meal:  green mashed potatoes, green veggies and green fruit.  We drink out of our green wedding goblets and find hidden treasures in our mashed potatoes.  McKenna always sets the most beautiful green table!
