Because Brian knew he wouldn't be with Cole on his birthday, he planned a special day for the two of them. We made him breakfast in bed and gave him the gift Brian had been planning--two tickets to the Yankees/Red Sox game, a Derek Jeter jersey, and a Yankees hat. The pictures capture a little of the thrill on Coley's face. Brian and I were overcome with emotion at his reaction. It was a dream come true for Cole! At the end of the day, all I ever hope is that our kids know how greatly they're loved, how important they are. I'm so grateful that Brian goes out of his way, everyday, to make each one of us feel that way.
